A City-Wide, Inter-Agency Coalition of YOUTH

YouthNET is Manchester's first citywide, inter-agency coalition of youth. YouthNET provides leadership, networking and capacity building opportunities for youth between the ages of 12-18 residing in the Greater Manchester area.

Youth paticipate in a multitude of youth developed service projects, community engagement activities, and trainings.

Youth develop skills in leadership, healthy decision-making, facilitation, event planning, programming, budgeting, time management, volunteer recruitment, and event promotion.
   


 

Purpose  

  • To create community involvement for young people who ar edisconnected from youth serving organizations in partnership with already engaged young people.
  • Support learning and participation collectively and individually by creating an environment that inspires youth to involvement and action.
  • Provide networking opportunities for youth to find activities and resources available within the community.
  • Connect youth with pro-social and volunteer opportunities through Greater Manchester.
  • Establish a safety net for youth to share ideas, and take action in areas of specific concern.
  • Provide educational opportunities to inform youth on issues around health, cultural competency, and action planning and community engagement.

Who Gets Involved?

Youth between the ages of 12-18 that are interested in developing leadership skills, meeting other youth, and making a difference within their community.

Youth who want to belong to a coalition that is designed specifically for young people.

   



What is a Coalition?

A group of individuals who come together to share resources and work collaboratively to complete a task that positively impacts the community they live in. A coalition acts as a neutral convener. A coalition is a vehicle of collective community problem solving.

  • Attend monthly meeting, events, and initiatives
  • Participate in coversations
  • Bring ideas to the table
